In my dream, my mom develops some sort of disease (I think it was AIDs) and needs to go to a special hospital far away. ___ and I go with her. On the ride there, I flip through the radio stations but all we can get is that Delilah chick. In the dream, there’s something about my mom being pregnant with the president’s child as a result of the disease.

We get to the town where the hospital is. It’s underground. Most of the buildings are crudely made of metal and everything has this very grungy sci fi/steampunk look.

We find a fast food restaurant and order something, but I get out of the car and go off to do something else while our food is being prepared. When I get back, the car is gone and the guy at the window says, in Delilah’s voice, “Kelly, your mom was rushed to the hospital. She’s going to have an emergency surgery. It’ll take three days.” He hands me my food and I run towards where the hospital is. My mind replays this part a second time.

Then, everything gets very confusing.

When I get to the hospital, I see that it looks absolutely nothing like a hospital at all. It looks like a decrepit metal attic. I walk around and try to find my mom. There are no doctors or other patients, just me, piles of old things and the sounds of children laughing.

I find where the sound of children is coming from. There is a whole section behind that town that has false (but highly realistic and functional) grass and trees and such. It’s used by scientists.

I find a woman who’s supposed to be Delilah. She’s looking after the children in a huge warehouse like building behind the hospital. I recognize a lot of the children as friends of mine who really aren’t children at all.

She tells me she’s the hospital’s nanny who looks after the children of patients. She tells me to sit down with the rest of the children at a little table and work on a coloring book she made. I do for a while, then I remember my mom and I get up to look around.

When I get back to the part with the trees and grass, I see a huge horse, about the size of a Clydesdale, running in slow motion through the grass. It’s brown and white with a cream colored mane and “leg warmers” as it gets closer, I see that it has a unicorn horn.

As it gets closer, I start to get a little scared. It’s big enough to trample me and it’s clearly headed my way. I do my best to avoid it and when it gets right in front of me, it stops and I pet it. It’s very soft. I think to myself I can’t believe how big unicorns are.

After a while, the unicorn takes off. It runs a bit then it purposely slides on a long patch of
