What the hell happened to Reddit? Writing and horror subreddits specifically. My entire plan was to write stories, post them on r/nosleep and a couple of other original story subreddits, and garner a following that way. r/nosleep's rules and moderation are a joke. So many arbitrary restrictions that the OG/top stories of all time that made r/nosleep what it is would be removed if they were submitted today.

And the fact that writing about certain subjects is taboo. I don't mean writing about them in a glorifying way or going into graphic detail, just as part of the plot because those subjects happen in real life. They affect real people. Villains are supposed to be villainous. If all you can say is that the villain does some weawy mean things and is a supew mean poopiehead, then the story is shit.

And don't get me started on shitty subreddit mods. I modmailed y'all because I wanted to go over the story I'm working on and making sure it doesn't break the rules so neither of us have to waste our time posting and removing it. You don't have to be a dick about it. I hate that I moderate some subs. Being a subreddit mod is actually disgusting.

What's even the point of the internet anymore? I don't miss random gore or CSAM images popping up on social media timlines from some rando's account that I don't even follow, but damn I miss the freedom of expression of the old internet.

Bitch, I lived through sexual abuse! I lived through domestic violence! The world is full of evil and ignoring it isn't going to make it go away. And I'm going to write fictional accounts of women surving and overcoming those evils because while they may not be real, they're based on real events. Real wars, real abusers, real genocides, real survivors who said fuck it and kept going.
